Japan311 is operating under the authorized consent of the Red Cross

Welcome

One year ago, on March 11, 2011, Japan experienced a devastating earthquake – the effects of the resulting tsunami, aftershocks and disaster at Fukushima Daiichi are still being felt. Although Japan has begun the healing process, more help is still needed.

Japan 311 is a grassroots organization started by members of the Japanada society, James Nakajima and Gabe Kojima. Although we call Vancouver our home, we have family back in Japan that are being affected by the Fukushima Daiichi events and feel it was our duty to “do something.” We decided to sell T-shirts, with all money raised to be used for the Canadian Red Cross, which in turn uses the funds to reach out to the Japanese.

The nuclear power plants are still causing problems; families are still out of their homes; Japan still needs help.

The road to recovery in the affected region has been long, strenuous and largely uphill, and it is still ongoing. It is anticipated that it will take several years for the region to simply begin the process of restoration and renewal. To support the long-term recovery effort Japan311.ca has established a legacy contribution plan in concert with Japanada Brand ensuring that support donations will be ongoing and the memory of those lost will not be forgotten.

We urge you to contribute whatever you can to the relief effort in Japan and ask that
you kindly donate through Japan311.ca, purchase a relief T-Shirt, attend a fundraising
function or donate directly to the Red Cross.
